Bacon Salt Recipe: Grilled Asparagus with Bacon Salt
Get those grills fired up, this is a simple and healthy side dish with lots of flavor that could be a staple for your summertime meals.
Grilled Asparagus with Bacon Salt
- 1 bunch of asparagus (I prefer the very thin kind as they grill up faster, but I get whatever my local grocery store has)
- 1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (you can substitute vegetable oil if that’s all you’ve got)
- 1 tablespoon of your favorite flavor of Bacon Salt – we like Peppered a lot with this, but Original works really well too, as does Applewood or Hickory
Prepare a hot grill. Toss asparagus with olive oil and Bacon Salt. Add to grill, turning frequently until crisp-tender – it’s OK if some of the tips have a sort of burned look. You can either grill the asparagus on a skewer or just add directly to the grill cross-wise and use tongs. Total cooking time depends on the thickness of the asparagus, but is usually only 2-5 minutes. Serve with some additional Bacon Salt and/or freshly ground black pepper and enjoy!
