Beantown and Bacon Salt

Bacon Salt was mentioned in the Boston Globe today as part of their article on their favorite things this year: http://www.boston.com/lifestyle/food/articles/2007/12/26/20_raves/?page=2. Here’s a quote from the article:

J&D’s Bacon Salt does just one thing: It makes everything it touches taste kissed by a slab of smoky bacon. It was created a few years ago by a couple of bacon-loving tech guys who wanted to evangelize their bacon fixation but without the grease. How good is it? A few sprinkles revive lackluster mashed potatoes, just a dash on eggs adds another layer of flavor. It’s a surprisingly faithful mimic of the sweet, salty, and smoky compounds found in good bacon, yet there’s no meat at all, making it both certified Kosher and safe for vegetarians pining for pork. baconsalt.com/buy/

Boston is definitely one of our favorite cities, so we’re really thankful they put us on their list of favorite things. And speaking of Boston, are they just going to completely dominate every major sport now? First the Patriots, then the Red Sox, then both of them again, and now the Celtics. How about lending some of that mojo to the Cubs next year (which will be their 100th year without a title)?

(One small correction – we’ve only been at this since July of this year, not for the last few years.)
